At Stand
Stand is an interesting restaurant on E. 12th St., just west of University Place. It is a very nice hamburger place, which serves a variety of burgers (including, for example, bacon and egg cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, salmon burgers and veggie burgers), all artfully presented. There are interesting sides (such as the red cabbage coleslaw in mustard sauce), compelling soft drinks (such as homemade ginger ale which tastes like liquid ginger), intense chocolate shakes, and unusual desserts (like the lime yogurt parfait). Burgers run $9 - $11. There is a bar. Decor is artfully spare. It's worth a visit.
