Sunrise at Tunnel View

In our recent trips to Yosemite, we've either missed a fantastic sunrise or were skunked (mostly skunked). On this particular morning last month, we finally got enough cloud hanging over the valley to catch some spectacular color.

Only to find out shooting sunrises here is really really hard because the sun comes up from behind everything. One, you can keep the valley in silhouette. Two, you could try to do multiple exposures and blend. Or you could stack a bunch of ND grads, which is what I did.

This doesn't even match the experience of watching those clouds change color as the sun rose. Finally, we got something for us waking up so darn early!

I hope you aren't getting bored with all my Yosemite shots. But, gosh darn it, this place is so photogenic.
