Things are beginning to warm up here in Chicagoland, but when we left for a trip to Las Vegas last week, we were still in the throes of winter. The weather was lovely in the desert southwest - not humid, and deliciously just right temperatures!
We were not planning on visiting Death Valley. When I contacted my friend David and suggested shooting at Valley of Fire, he countered with a trip out to Mesquite Sand Dunes. "Just think, V," he said, "Beautiful golden curves and dunes."
He didn't need to convince me - I have been wanting to try my hand at photographing the dunes again. Convincing my husband was another thing! I didn't blame him, as we'd have to wake up very very early. In the end, he agreed to go (he didn't have to drive). It was a lovely morning.
Thanks, David, for driving and inviting us along!
