Bad Boys, whatcha going to do?

Fearsome Predators of the Cretaceous.

Gorgosaurus libratus, "fierce lizard", a tryannosaurid dinosaur from 75 million years ago and replica of a specimen from southwestern Alberta.

Xiphactinas audax, "sword ray" fish from 85 million years ago and replica of of a specimen from northwestern Kansas. This predator also found in southwestern Manitoba.

Both are part of the Ed Leith Cretaceous Menagerie. These toothy critters have yet to fall upon hapless geology students in the lounge / display area in the Wallace Building, U of M, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
