Veterinary Soldiers test skills

HUMPHREYS GARRISON – During exercise Ulchi Freedom Guardian, the 129th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Medicine) and elements of the 106th Medical Detachment were on hand to provide medical and surgical services for pets here. They also performed exams and surgeries on Military Working Dogs. At the conclusion of their stay, the Soldiers participated with Charlie Company, 3-2 General Support Aviation Battalion, in medical evacuation training and an exercise. Staff Sgt. Thomas Rath, the Charlie Co., 3-2 GSAB senior flight medic, trained the veterinary Soldiers on the proper technique for securing a MWD for Medevac and then had them practice taking the secured animal to the helicopter for transport.
