Titan against Saturn's rings May 6, 2012-mosaic-crop

Newer Older

Four frame mosaic of Titan created from raw images taken by the Cassini spacecraft on May 6 2012 from 800,000 km.

This mosaic combines four clear filtered images. The images were registered and blended using masking. Data was added in the far lower left corner (added section of ring and shadow) and in the far upper right corner (added background). The ring shadow misalignment at bottom is an artifact due to spacecraft motion.

@The^Bob: Yup! You spotted an image artifact resulting from a dust ring on the camera lens.
