Skaftafell National Park, Jokulsarlon. A photographic icon.
The well photographed glacier lagoon. B l a c k M a g i c
One of our few and transient views of Iceland's largest ice cap,
Vatnajokull Glacier (jokull means glacier, near as I could tell), and this one
is the largest in all of Europe. Glaciers can be seen creeping down the sides. Rivers starting at the glacier's tongues (feet?) determine the landscape for quite a distance in all directions, encluding here at the oceans edge. Taken while exploring the lagoon's edge.
