Pitcher plant bog, Blackwater River State Forest, Florida Panhandle

Yellow pitcher plants growing in a seepage bog. These plants grow in nutrient-poor bogs, and they capture insects to obtain the nutrients they need. There were three other species of pitcher plants growing in this bog, which was in the middle of a longleaf pine forest. See: edis.ifas.ufl.edu/uw378
