Black Geep Interuption

I vaguely remember this shot that my father, John Eagan Sr., took in Mendota, IL on 5/27/62. We were heading towards the Black Hills and Devils Tower, and were on US30 in Mendota, IL. Dad was a career railroader on the IC, and when we crossed the Gruber Line in Mendota, Dad spied this IC train approaching the CB&Q station and tower. A quick stop, and a shot or two with his German made 35mm camera on Kodachrome film with Kodak processing...Father knows best! And, after nearly 50 years, this scene, with black IC geeps, vintage cars, and buildings now gone, are still preserved on this treasured slide. What do I remember of this day? Sitting in the back seat of the car and the train rumbled by!
