hobo shoe

I was walking home at dusk in a developing ice storm when I realized my right foot was getting awfully wet and cold. When I got home, I found that the sole of my shoe had cracked all the way across.

Since these were the only shoes I owned that were even vaguely suitable for cold or wet weather, I duct taped it up so I could go out the next day and buy some new shoes.

My makeshift repair just wouldn't have been complete without the >H<.

If it is true that all a man needs is WD40 to make things go, and duct tape to make them stop . . . I think you'd better carry some WD40 with you when you wear these or you'll have a heck of a time getting anywhere with them.

I enjoy typing the word "duct" in the

All a woman needs too. I take after my mom - all the tools in my dad's toolbox kept evaporating (mostly thanks to my brother who kept borrowing them, then his friends borrowed them, then.......), but Mom always knew where her tools were, 'cuz [1] she kept her toolbox padlocked and [2] if you borrowed something, she'd threaten you with an agonizing death if you didn't return it pronto!

Somehow I just don't feel complete without my big ol' toolbox - and my electric drill, and my circular saw! MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. The shoes are officially retired, but somehow I just can't make myself throw them out............ =sigh=...............

p.p.s. The WD-40 is sitting on the shelf with my cooking supplies right now, supposedly so I'll see it and remember that I'm supposed to take care of the awful squeaking in a friend's rocking chair......... but in the mean time, it's "perfect nonstick cooking every time!"

What eyes! Honest to freekin' Ceiling Cat, grrrlfrend, u is so killz me ded wif teh ROFLZ! I hadn't even noticed that myself...............

I've been saying to people that the thing I love best about photography is that it makes you LOOK. And for all that I'm getting a kick out of taking pictures and blowing them up to 1280 x 1024(?) on screen, here I'm still not seeing what I'm looking at! :-P

p.s. I do origami about once every 2 years, and I always have to teach myself how to make the crane all over again. =sigh= And I've only made about 100,000 of 'em in my life...........

I finally threw them out =sigh= but it wasn't easy.................
