That’s right, always a line in front of Portland’s own “Voodoo Doughnut” where you can order the “Grape Ape” (raised doughnut with vanilla frosting and grape powder), “Triple Chocolate Penetration” (chocolate doughnut, chocolate glaze, and cocoa puffs), and the infamous “Cock-n-Balls” (bachlorette party favorite, triple cream filled, with your favorite saying written right on it. Comes in its own pink box.) =)
You can tell when you’re within a half-mile radius of Voodoo Doughnut by spotting all of the big pink boxes being carried around. It’s a favorite ritual when visiting downtown Portland: park your car, walk to Voodoo Doughnut, buy a dozen or more (depending on how many people you are with) doughnuts, and find a nice spot on the waterfront. Since Portland State is located in downtown Portland a lot of college students frequent Voodoo Doughnut, too.
I always buy their maple covered French Crullers.
