Catafalque Party

The ANZAC Sunday Commemoration Service on 17 April 2011 was the occasion for the dedication and official opening of the refurbished Mosman war memorial.

The new cenotaph and plinth acknowledges the sacrifice of those who served in the Boer War, World War 2 and later conflicts, including East Timor and Afghanistan.

The ANZAC Address was given by Brigadier Adrian d'Hage AM MC (Rtd), a Mosman boy who grew up on Awaba Street, was educated at North Sydney Boys High School and Royal Military College Duntroon and served in Vietnam.

The Cenotaph upgrade was jointly funded by Mosman Council and money raised through a public appeal by the Mosman Anzac Memorial Hall Trust and the Mosman RSL Sub Branch. The public appeal was launched by Peter FitzSimons on 11 November 2010 at the Remembrance Day service.

For further information or to donate please contact Mosman RSL Sub-Branch on 9960 2888.

A film of the dedication and ANZAC Address is available on YouTube.
