Dawnshire Keep

My largest castle creation to date.

This is an outpost for the legenday King of the Crown, Cormac I.

I hope someone recognizes the houses...

Nice details, and landscaping. I do feel the castle is a little small for the size of the mini figure.

I feel like, there's so much potential here - but it's really not working for me. For starters, the outer castle walls are really too short and the landscaping is really quite plain despite the amount you must have spent on greenery. Perhaps some of this money would have been better invested in bricks and plates? As for the houses, well they're just ripped straight from the Medieval Market Villages aren't they? The - plateau? - in the bottom left corner looks really out of place on such an otherwise flat landscape; perhaps those bricks would be put to better use on the castle or at least even out the landscape. I do like the trees and the crops but overall I feel that you need to work on the centrepiece of the creation, that is, the castle. Just my opinion.

You're probably right about the platue/cliff thing. I put in in there merely out of lazyiness. I'll be sure and do better next time. Thanks for you opinion.

This is really a nice piece of work. Lots of nice details. That pond is some sexy business in of itself.

But I agree with Karrde here. The castle, while very coherent, is lacking some. And the plateau and the MMV buildings really don't add all that much to the scene.

But still, amazing effort. You get alot of credit for that.

I have to disagree with Karrde about the landscaping, but I do feel that the outer castle wall needs a bit more. Concentric castles in general always had an imposing first wall.

I'm very impressed. I know some folks are a bit down on it, but if this is your first build in this scale then you've done a great job. The density of the vegitation is inspired.

The way it's jammed in between the buildings, it has the feel of something the King recently had built... and that the locals are still complaining about.

For those of you who were diappointed, a new one is one the way.
