Holi in India !

Holi is a community oriented festival in India and is celebrated with great fervour in Hindu areas of the country with a few notable exceptions in the south Indian states.

While playing Holi in vrindavan and parts of UP, Bihar, Gujarat are legendary, there is a total lack of it in Kerala.

In the not so distant past it was a feature to have "thandai" a preparation of milk, almonds etc laced with large portions of bhang which is a mild ot medium hallucinogen and upper and is made out of the leaves, buds and florets of the female cannabis plant in India.

In Goa, on the day before Holi, some stalls in the Panjim Municipal market were selling the dry color pigments.
