Woven Potholder ©

This traditional woven potholder was created on my potholder loom from the 1950s. It was a dark red metal loom. A lot of kids had them back then. I was still able to buy one for my daughter on ebay a few years ago in its original box! In recent years they are making a new metal loom for kids, which I prefer over the plastic ones. It appears to be made out of single piece of metal. I am now using Harrisville loops. Family has been requesting these for Christmas this year. I am up to the task!! :) I am up to 11 pairs of matched sets (wall hanger suitable) and 4 pairs of mismatched any loop goes! I call those scullery potholders, they go in the drawer and nobody worries that they could get some pot roast grease on them :) This year I may send those scullery potholders to those who say they never used the good ones because they were too pretty!
