twin sized quilt top for my son

    Newer Older

I used a mixture of new Pima cotton check fabrics and my husband's upcycled dress shirts to create a quilt top for my son's room. I followed the awesome quilt pattern found here www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=561 as a guideline to create the top. However, I did have to add more blocks in order to increase the size to fit a twin sized bed.

What a good idea! I just started saving my husbands old shirts as a source of material. Now I have a project to start!

Thank you! I should take some better pictures of this quilt. I incorporated some of the cool elements from the shirts into the quilt. Some of the blocks have shirt pockets, the tags, and the plackets from the shirts. The quilt is also so soft from the high thread count of the dress shirts. I think my son thinks it is really special...he is only nine though, so it is hard to tell.
