A pine tree does what it must to survive at the summit of Mt. Baker in NY Adirondack Mountains.
My. Baker is a short hike (0.9 Miles one way) in NY's Adirondack mountains, jut outside the village of Saranac Lake. The summit is tree covered but there are some ledges with views of the High Peaks to the south.
The trail is well marked to the summit, but once I got there there were so many herd paths I had trouble finding my way back down. While looking for the trail, I noticed this little tree sticking out from a rock face. Drawn to it and with nothing else to do, I spent some time shooting it. When I was done I looked around there was the trail beneath my feet.. So this little tree got me off the mountain.
