NE Brazil: Red-legged Honeycreeper

A familiar neotropical bird of humid habitats from Mexico to Brazil. Unlike other members of this genus, which are restless canopy birds and only descend near forest edges, this one does appear to get onto open perches like in this shot and i am thankful for that! Southern Bahia, Brazil, Dec 2011.

Better larger and in black. Press "L".
