'Throw Away Fix', sculpture, at the Waiheke Island Sculpture Walk

'Throw Away Fix', sculpture, at the Waiheke 'headland Sculpture on The Gulf', February 2011.

A conceptual work by Brett Oakes, confronts the viewer with a familiar object, a convenience item that has become an environmental inconvenience - the disposable coffee cup.

"The oversized object is a symbol of all expendable objects in a consumerist society, a product of our throwaway society."

The tilt of the cup represents the cup being discarded.
