Gene Sharp, 1990, at WRI Social Defence conference

Gene Sharp, the renowned nonviolent theoretician and analyst, died on 28th January 2018, aged 90.

This is not a very good quality photo but is the only one we had of our own on file. Gene Sharp, centre, is in typical mode interacting with others, just after he had spoken, at the 1990 Social Defence conference of the War Resisters' International in Bradford, England. British activist and analyst Diana Francis is on the left (about to adjust the mic). The WRI website is at www.wri-irg.org/ and the book reporting on the conference should still be available.
