I swear I had a toy that looked exactly like this when I was little. Only it fit Matchbox car or Hot Wheels.

Brilliant! Think of all the space we could save if parking lots were replaced with these...

I had a toy like this when I was a kid, I never knew there was such a thing in real life.

Only one of its kind? if so, what happened to it?

IF it was that great...u'd see more around.

Either a car got stuck (think of the problems elevators have), except you're going to have more than one po'd customer -- ALL x # of them will be. Can u imagine not being able to get home one night cause your car is stuck?

How many times might that have happened before someone said, "Oops...let's find a better way." (However, I have seen some SMALL versions in the Georgetown part of Wash., DC several years ago.)

We have one here in Hawaii. One of the hotels has an elevator garage to save space. It seems to work pretty well.
