Looking from the Edge of Kinder Scout into Edale Valley, Peak District, UK.
Had a day off work today. Had some things to do in the morning. Then it rained in the afternoon. I thought, may as well go out anyway, take some waterproofs. Been meaning to up to the edge of Kinder Scout again, this time with camera. Got to Hathersage and it really chucked it down. Nearly turned back but glad I didn't. Had a long walk around this awe inspiring place. I was happy with my moody cloudy images but then I was treated some amazing light which was even better.
Happened upon this composition. Thought I recognised it. One of my inspirational Flickr contacts has had the same composition printed recently in Countryfile magazine. If you've not seen his work before, please take a look. It's amazing work: Primed Minister. Hope you don't mind me taking the shot Paul. It was lovely light.
The village of Edale is nestled in the valley and you can see the chimney of Hope cement factory to the left above the great ridge.
