sesame chicken kebabs

bbq season is about 6 months long in san diego, giving us plenty of time to try new things on the grill. here's an example of something the wife lovingly prepared for some friends few months back.

marinade:

2 Tbsp soy sauce

2 Tbsp honey

1 Tbsp grated ginger

1 Tbsp sesame oil

3 Tbsp other oil

refrigerate 4 chicken breasts, cubed, with the marinade at least 2 hours.

to prepare, soak 12 wooden skewers in cold water for 30 minutes. cut 8 spring onions into short lengths. spear them on as pictured here. after grilling, finish by sprinkling with toasted sesame seeds.

photo notes: taken with a nikon 50mm f1.8 on a d90. the damned thing about this bbq - and maybe all of them in general - is that the bright sunlight that made it great to have a bbq in the first place also blew out a few exposures. fortunately the lid of the grill casts a decent shadow. for this one, i just cropped out the overexposed areas outside of the shadow.
