Metsähanhi
Bean Goose (Anser fabalis). 25.5.2007, Keminmaa.
This goose was lying on it`s eggs, hiding flat neck on the ground. Took some shots from 10 meters without frightening it..
Quite rare found and on an atypical place on a logging just some pines left about 150 downhill was then a swamp - more typical place to this specie.
By the way there were others too: Rough-Legged Buzzard (Buteo Lagopus) nesting just 40 meters away...and Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa) about 120 meters away...and Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) about 300 meters away) and Raven (Corvus corax) 300 meters away too...
P.S. Visited the place 28.5. and all eggs have hatched and all Gooses had left luckily (I hope) the place...
