Suopöllö

 

Short-Eared Owl ( Asio flammeus ). 4.6.2010, Hakaniitty, Tornio, Finland.

 

Long winged lovely owl that`s very typical to the open places near here where I live. As a child I found 10 egg nest of short-eared - it was the first raptors nest that I ever found. From somewhere there intrest started...

 

It may look like it`s warm and summer but rained hails & wet snow and weather was something below 10 celcius today.

Owl in the last picture is female that has a nest with only three eggs.Paler one in these two first is a same male.
