Xanthomendoza hasseana and Xanthoria now Polycauliona polycarpa

"W Cas X. [Xanthoria] polycarpa often cohabits twigs with the larger Xanthomendoza hasseana. When they grow together, X. hasseana has distinctly broader lobes and the rhizines peek out from beneath the lobes." - McCune and Geiser, 2009

(polycarpa is exceedingly common in the Seattle area, but I see very little hasseana around here, but will have to look more closely at small yellow-orange lichens)
