VALUTA, Car Concept Sketch for Minister Kopecký (1953)

Vladimír Popelář, chief designer of the Tatra Engineering Office in Prague, used this sketch of Valuta to introduce the concept of a brand new Tatra limousine to the influential minister, Václav Kopecký. He managed to contact him in person, persuade and gain support. The Minister endorsed the concept, the Czechoslovak government set requirements and approved the production of a new limousine named after its engine T603.

In 1990, the sketch was found behind the cabinet in the Ministry of Defense and returned to Mr. Vladimír Popelář in exchange for a bottle of liqueur.
