Adobo Bento
Little brother hates pasta salad, so here's his bento with leftover adobo(Filipino dish) from dinner.
I would never usually stick in so many almonds, but I stuck in a more- than- usual- amount for desert, so it should even it off.
He's only three and can eat a whole double cheeseburger and fries! We've been trying to control his portion sizes; I'm not letting one of my siblings ever get obese :P
Time Saving Carrot Flower Tip
Sometimes it gets really hard cutting fresh carrots with a cookie dough cutter, right?
Boiling them takes waay too much time for me. Instead, I chop up the carrot into three pieces, place it into a bowl with some water in it, place a cover on top, and microwave it. This softens the carrot, and is much easier to do when multi-tasking other parts of the bento :)
Using basmati rice in bento
Basmati rice has never known to stick well together..this is truer so for cold, leftover brown basmati rice. In order to get the rice sticking together, I wet my hands, and push it against the side of the bento box until the grains decide to stick. After, I immediately place some sort of barrier (in this case, apple rabbits) so that it's less likely to collapse once I let go.
