for mom's plum tart

first, spend a lovely afternoon in the garden picking plums and raspberries. return to the house with very few raspberries left but enough plums to make a tart.

 

preheat oven to 400-degrees

 

pit and halve approx. 24 small plums

2 cups flour

3/4 finely chopped walnuts

3/4 cup light brown sugar

12 tablespoons cold butter, diced

1 egg yolk

 

combine flour walnuts brown sugar add butter add egg yolk

take 1 1/2 cups of mixture and press into bottom of 9" springform pan

arrange plums skin side down overlapping to cover the crumb mixture

sprinkle the rest of mixture over fruit

 

bake 40-50 minutes or until lightly browned

 

cool before releasing sides of pan
