Hitachi High Speed Camera Exposure Meter (02)

Ever have heard of a Hitachi Light meter ?

Well I didn't until I found and bought one today.

Always thought that Hitachi only makes stuff like Power tools and TV-sets.

And what a meter it is. Big and heavy. The sensor is fixed to the base by a long flexible tube.

The meter has 3 scales, 3x , 30x and 300x 10.000 Lux

Guess that's were those 2 loose lying neutral density filters kick in as they each have a factor x10.

So top reading would be 3.000.000 Lux.

Well that's about 25 times that what the sun produces on noon at a clear day !

Film sensitivity can be set from 1 ASA till 5000 ASA

But what does P.P.S. mean ?

Particles Per Set ?? Nooo....

Pictures Per Second ?? Yes, why not, very probable

So max setting is 200 x 100 = 20.000 pictures per second.

Wow !

My vidcam only perform 25 frames per second at best !
