081127-N-6651N-004 HERAT, Afghanistan - Following military tradition where leadership serves the Thanksgiving meal to the ranks, Camp Stone's Higher Headquarters Commander Capt. Bill David of Denver, Colo., serves turkey to Multi-Personnel Resources Incorporated (MPRI) civilian John James of Wasilla, Alaska at Camp Stone near Herat, Nov. 27. Deployed Army, Air Force, and Navy service members, as well as U.S. civilians and international militaries, enjoyed the American meal that included more than 30 turkeys, mashed and sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, macaroni and cheese, pumpkin and pecan pie, and a variety of beverages including eggnog and sparkling grape juice. The holiday drew more than 500 American service members from nearby international camps where a Thanksgiving meal was not provided.
