Draw Kiln - detail
A draw kiln, built in the 1870s, recently partially restored. The base pictured here is where lime would be withdrawn after limestone had been fed into the top. Fireboxes on both sides of the kiln would burn for 3 days to get things going, and then processing was continuous.
