Paris flood 1910
In 1910, the Seine rose to heights not seen in 250 years, devastating large parts of the City of Light. This largely-forgotten story is told in the new book by historian Jeffrey H. Jackson "Paris Under Water: How the City of Light Survived the Great Flood of 1910" and on the website www.ParisUnderWater.com. These images are from a booklet published shortly after the flood from the studio of photographer Pierre Petit.
