Rejoice No Longer

    Newer Older

Of all the abandoned places I go to, it is churches that tend to stir up the most emotion within me. One of those is a deep sadness. These are relics of a past generation...relics of which the current generation knows nothing. These were once places of faith, grace, happiness, forgiveness, rejoicing, and fellowship. Now, they sit in silence.....grace and happiness are forgotten.

More so every day. Hate everywhere we turn. Your photo is a great metaphore for the breakdown. :)

Beautiful old church interior and wonderful light! It looks so empty without the pews. I like the double-double doors... Excellent work, Scott!

I wish these places were still used. Such beautiful places being lost.

Striking photo; more so because of the red aisle carpet still in place.

Amazing. Did you get inside for this shot? It was locked when I was there.

I get the same feelings. I'm always happy to find one that is being kept up even if it is no longer in use.
