Day 83/365: Faux reflections

I saw a tutorial that was explaining how to create fake puddles. Actually it was pretty hard to follow cos it was using photoshop and although I have that program I prefer to use Paint Shop Pro. So anyway I just looked at the stages and then reproduced the thing in Paint Shop. Here's (vaguely) the steps:

1. Copy the image

2. Open a new canvas that is twice as tall

3. Close the original image

4. Paste the image into the blank canvas and position it at the top of the canvas

5. Paste another version of the image and then flip it so its upside down and drag it to the bottom of the canvas

6. Making sure the upside down image is selected go to effects>distortion effects>displacement map and select the ripples

7. Using the burn tool burn a line going across the image to simulate the edge of the puddle

Ok so maybe it needs more work (making the edge of the image less obvious for example) but I thought it looked interesting anyway.
