Raffles Malkoha

Panti Bird Sanctuary. This bird was first described by Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, and bears his name. Unfortunately, it is extinct in Singapore.

When we first spotted the bird, it was busy checking out dead leaves on the trees for water or food. It then landed on this branch for a break and it seems to check my companion and I out. It resumed its search after this break. This is one of a sequence of shots during this short window for an uncluttered view of this magnificent bird.
