I really like how the food and your hand pop from the photo, both bathed in the orange glow. It really connects the food and the act of cooking it.

Wow! Talk about multi-tasking! Really well done - great composition, colour, depth of field: and a self-portrait! I love the way the emphasis falls on the apricots, and they are such a lovely colour. Very impressive.

Bea - you did a marvelous job with this. Any tricks to share on the focus? Did you just use auto? I tend to use manual focus for my shots, but that's really tough when I'm setting up for a self portrait. I love the compostion and the textures here. Wowee.

      Thanks SpeedM.

Hedgiecc, it is indeed. I had to do quite a few!

L, thank you! I did use the camera in manual mode, on a tripod (of course ;-)). What I did is actually focus on a given point in the middle of the apricots, where I intended to put the spoon. I initially wanted to stir but then thought it could be better to stay still. I had to do quite a few shots as I was sometimes off the frame ;-)

    12. La tartine gourmande 105 months ago | reply

      Yes L, I used the 50mm.

Nice complimentary colors too - the orange apricots intensify the blue of your T-shirt...how do you stay so trim cooking all this incredible food!? Grrrr
