Fresh snow and thermal haze.
When I think of Yellowstone, I always picture the bison as the icon of that incrediable environment. This photo shows why I do. Here admist the heavy thermal activity, this bison with a missing left horn tip, appeared like a ice age ghost, quietly strolling by. It was a joy to behold this scene. All was quiet, as we studied the bison uttering occassional grunts as it made it's way towards another bison.
