12 Mom wanting to feed youngster
And I spied this bird, who I am convinced is Mom in the previous photo - don't ask why, I just am. I'm sure she was on her way to feed Junior. The fence runs toward the tree where Junior was hidden, and she kept going back and forth along a 2 foot stretch, back and forth, watching me, but keeping away from the tree. I'm thinking she was waiting for me to leave so as not to give away the location of her youngster. So, I said my good-byes, and walked away to let nature take it's course without my input.
I did not check on things again, though the cats will remain in the house 24/7 for a few days. Hopefully, I might spy a young robin or two fluttering around, testing their new flying abilities - that would be reassuring, but nature is rarely so accommodating. But I have my photos.
Oh, how did I know that Junior was the one under the tree? Look closely at his first photo, and then the photo of who I thought was Junior, and you will notice Junior has less white across his eyes. Plus, before I double-checked the photos, my gut told me it was so.
