Tintin Embroidery

This is my entry for the 'Covered in Stitches' contest on Feeling Stitchy. I have always loved Tintin books since I was young and I do love embroidering fish! I think I was a bit ambitious as it is the same size as the book cover. I traced through the calico as much as I could and drew the rest. I have used a bit of watercolour and a bit of colouring pencil as well in the background. I discovered a lot about embroidery (the more stitches you put on, the more the fabric puckers!) as I went along, and a lot about myself as well (patience, panic and leaving things till the last minute)! There was a lot more stitching I wanted to add but I ran out of time :) I really enjoyed the whole process and drank thousands of cups of tea as well! (I think there are about 60 million thousand black stitches in that shark sub)
