Afghanistan c. 1950s

In the early 1950s my father traveled (mostly via camel back) the length of Afghanistan with a Japanese professor. They were in search of a lost Mongol tribe, which they eventually located. The journey formed part of my father's PhD on the economic principals of China's Mongol Yuan Dynasty.
