Tomato recipes? Other than lightly salt and devour?? Who need more recipes?! :) I like chopping them up with cucumber and adding Italian dressing. Of course, yours will be MUCH cuter than mine . . . :) :) :)

Cut in half, put them in an oven dish flat side up. Sprinkle with a mixture made of breadcrumbs, garlic, oregano and parsley and a bit of parmesan cheese. Drizzle with olive oil ad bake in the oven for 10-15 mintues. It's my favourite thing.....

If they were large I'd fill them up with rice and tuna and bake them.

    BTW, really cute bento !

Well, there's always spaghetti sauce. My dad always started with a huge quantity of pear tomatoes -- red ones -- with the usual Italian seasonings, onions, garlic, sweet Italian sausage, red wine, several cans of Contadina tomato paste, and a few cans of whole tomatoes. Brown the meat, onions, and garlic, pile in the tomatoes, and boil for eight hours. Tweak as appropriate with wine, more tomato paste, and more applications of garlic.

Did I mention garlic? The proper ratio seems to be three to four entire heads of garlic to a gallon of spaghetti sauce. The resultant product was always fire engine red and extremely savory. He had to make a gallon at a time so there would be some left over for the next two or three days. Truth to tell, I'm not quite sure how he did it.
