Just before sunrise in early November,
Annapolis harbor begins to enlighten.
Hopes for the late season sailors
Heading south for the winter brighten.
They know each other as cruisers and
By the name of their liveaboard sailboat
Not last names nor worldly occupations
Their previous life--just a forgotten footnote.
A cruisers life is simple by choice.
No lawn to mow nor costly car repair.
No debt, no bills, nor appointments.
Just off to see the next new somewhere.
