Tube Train

Corby Steelworks again, this time from September 1977. This is the well-known view from the Rockingham Road bridge, with D29, one of the GECT 0.6.0DHs (5394/75) hauling a train load of tubes. Close inspection of the locomotive reveals it to have 'S&L' (Stewarts & Lloyds), on the engine covers. As S&L became British Steel from 1968, they must have come from an earlier EEV, which would have been delivered in S&L livery.

All in this picture, apart from the BR running lines, has gone.
