A Frith postcard of Thirsk Market Place, North Yorkshire. Although posted in April 1970, the scene is probably early 1960s. The bus can be identified as United Auto Bristol L5G LHN 861, behind which is an Atkinson of Haworth & Airey, Wine Merchants of Preston, all surrounded by a fine collection of contemporary cars.

The backdrop of buildings is still similar today, although the shops have all changed hands; The Fine Fare on the right is still a supermarket today, now a branch of Somerfields.
