    That cutie in the background peeking in is so sweet. All the hardship is taken in stride as no other way of life is known to the families, thank you for documenting and sharing a moment of daily life for them through your pictures.

    Great image ... it tells a story about the hard daily life of these kids.
    I will visit the Phils in February 2010 and I've planned to go to such places too, to take some documentary images.

    The well captured enviroment speaks for the living conditions of the children of Baseko. Like the desaturated look and matching colors of the "cool" vehicle (that appears to be their playground) and the little one's T-shirt.

    In response to JuVi, I think there is a time for "fun" for these guys, but its hard to tell when that is, when faced with a photo like this.

    These kids work incredibly hard, finding stuff they may be able to sell, while walking through polluted and dangerous rubbish tips and as previous photo shows, the rubbish filled water.

    I do agree with you that these kids "adapt" to their surroundings far better than us adults do, but that also means that sometimes they are forced to "grow up" very quickly as well, just to survive.
