These two were walking towards me on the street... they walked side by side kinda slowly as they crossed the State Street Bridge heading south... When I jumped 'em I shouted 'you two look like you're in LOVE!'

    That ALWAYS works.

    Even if they're fighting.

They stopped to cross the street and then this moment happened.

    It was like magic.

When I saw this goin' down I knew it was time to nail it...

Next week I'm thinkin' about renting a 35mm 1.4... it's a stop faster and it's a lot bigger glass up front... it's gotta be better at gatherin' the light... but it costs TEN times as much and my rig gets put into a lot of tough situations... a lot of 'wear and tear' if you know what I mean.

Man... that $189 fixed focal length 35mm with it's 1.8 openin' is GOLDEN in the light... but shooting in the dark challenges the whole setup.

I'm thinking of trying ring flash.

I'm against the whole flash thing on street shots... but if you're gonna get into these situations it's nice to be somewhat assured that you're gonna walk away with the shot.

      Cool shootin' there partner!!!

    3. Viewminder 49 months ago | reply

Thanks Seth! It's always good to feel the love... and these two didn't shoot back!

I really like this shot... it's got a great 'close up' vibe to it and the background is really seperated from the guy. These are the ones I really enjoy.

Thanks for the 1 minute and 50 seconds guys!

Thanks Cyn! I bet HE could see my smile through the viewfinder! I love bein' a part of these moments.

I like to think of myself as 'Cupid with a Nikon.'

Unless you're a crazy druken pizza guy...

I DID shoot ONE picture last night of the blue hour... uh... but I shot it in black and white...
The Blue Hour in Black and White

Hearing the buzz of the street and all of those people milling around I couldn't keep myself from looking for some 'Chicago-Love'!

Yes it is Michelle! I think Tesla said it best... in 'Love Song.'

When I pulled the 'jump' on this girl I said 'hey... the guy behind you is totally CHECKIN' YOU OUT!'

      Checkin' You Out!

Look at him... I swear he heard me! Dude was sooooooo busted!

Such a sweet smile... I just knew that she wouldn't mace me!

Thanks Audrey! I do like 'positive connections.' But I did get some wonderful shots of 'Chicago-Love' last night too... one of them I'm waiting for confirmation on from the people over at the Guiness Book of World Records.

This dude had the biggest middle digit I've ever seen!

And I was attacked by a sociopathic pizza delivery guy... and I'm not givin' him an excuse or anything... but be sure to 'tip' the pizza guy... 'specially on a Saturday night... you never know who he's gonna run into next...

After I told this girl that the guy behind her was checkin' her out and he accepted that he'd been busted straight up... they started talking at the crosswalk...

I know it was a love connection by their first awkward exchange... which of course I photographed... although pooly...

      Talkin' Her Up!

'That's a really big building there isn't it?'

'Yeah. You wanna go have a drink or something?'

Another arrow from Viewminder's 'Love Nikon' hits home...

That sh!t gets me all fuzzy and tingly.

this shot made a song pop in my head and now I can't remember the name f it, very nice! love, sweet love!

    13. Viewminder 49 months ago | reply

Thank you Maureen. It is sweet and it's pretty sweet that people let me in to make captures like these.

Let me know if you figger out that song... the same thing happened to me and I can't place the song.

Maybe it's just that a song about this image hasn't been written but should be?

I'm not sure which I like best....I'm struggling here. lol

The one where she is showing her shyness and turns her head, or the one where you see her profile and her smile.

But HIS smile....absolutely amazing. Coming straight from his soul.
      I love big gorgeous smiles.

Thank you for sharing and making me smile with the whole story.
