    Thanks a bunch!
I sprayed the caps with simple varnish in a tin can. The best result for the dots you get, if you use nail or screw heads. Dab it in a speckle of the white varnish and then onto the cap, don´t press, just dab. Use different nail/screw sizes.

Simple varnish? You mean like spray paint? Do you still put food in the jars or just crafty things? Love, love, LOVE these! I have white marmalade jars that would look so cute with red and white polka dots. Very excited to try this.

Spray varnish, of course... sometimes I use also a base varnish or I have to spray two ore three sheets. It depends on the idividual lit.
I use them only for dry food: nuts, raisins, jelly beans... There is a silicon ring inside the lit to close it tight. This silicon "suffers" because of the spray varnish. It becomes a little bit sticky after a while and I think it will not close tight anymore. Marmelade is hot if you fill it in and the lit has to be absolutly close. I never tryed it, but I think it is not a good idea for marmelade.
If you use simple varnish with a paint brush, maby you will not have that silicon-problem.
    XOXO Kerstin

I make candles and I keep odd shape jars that would be a good idea for the covers.

I just used regular spray paint. I used the ends of a pencil to make the dots. I filled them with hot chocolate and tea mixes. Great Christmas gifts!!
