The former site of Eutaw Springs, South Carolina, now inundated by the waters of Lake Marion

This area -- immediately adjacent to site site of the battle of Eutaw Springs during the American revolutionary war in September 1781 -- was originally filled with pools of clear water emanating from a number of limestone springs in the area. The springs are now inundated by an arm of Lake Marion that resulted when the Santee River was dammed.
