HIGH AIM 6 Broome W.A

HIGH AIM 6 (Ghost ship). Found adritf off the west Australian coast on Jan 9 2003. The ship, known to have left Liuchiu in Taiwan on October 31 2002. Ships owner spoke last with the captain in December 2002. This was to be the last communication. Found drifting in calm waters approx 80 nautical miles east of Rowley Shoals. It had plenty of fuel, the crew's personal belongings were still aboard, but mysteriously no crew, drawing comparisons to the Mary Celeste of 1872. Two days were spent inspecting the vessel and conducting an aerial search of 7,300 square nautical miles, with no trace of the crew.

The unwanted ship was sunk to serve as a fish habitat.

Seen on our 2003 trip including the Kimberley region.
